Humphrey's County & Civil War Museum

The structural integrity of this building was in very bad shape – Broken sills, floor joists, etc.  The museum was full of unique items that could not be removed.  Bolton Companies completed the work with extreme care and helped continue to preserve a small piece of American history.  

Benton County Courthouse

​The courthouse has settled approximately 2 inches.  Bolton Companies installed 22 Ram Jack double helical piles with 4’ft. guide sleeves and heavy footer brackets.  We were able to lift the structure the 2 inches to close gap and tuck point crack.  Additional lifting of the interior slab also needed.  This was also caused by settlement and was raised.

Gus's Chicken

In early spring of 2006, we were contacted by Horizon Construction in need of shoring a building in downtown Memphis, TN.  Horizon Construction was in the process of building a four story condominium with a basement parking garage 11'' away from the world famous Gus's Fried Chicken.    Working with an engineer, we came up with a plain to stabilize the restaurant, which consisted of 14 Ram Jack helical piles driven to a depth of 40'/ 30 kips along the north wall of the building .  This included 2 piles under the walk-in freezer.  
After pile installation and the building secured, Horizon excavated right against the Ram Jack piles to a depth of 7' below the footings of the building to start excavation for the Condominium basement and footings.  The entire stabilization effort took 2 days to complete.  The Final Project was completed in early 2007.    We successfully held Gus's in place through excavation and construction of the condominium.  
Note for business owners:  Gus's continued service to its customers throughout the entire build cycle and is a thriving downtown business still!

Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church

​Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church  is one of our many historic sites we have worked on. The damaged sills and joist had to be replaced, as well as retrofitting a new foundation.

Parker's Crossroads

​Log home that was built in the 1840’s and  was moved by Bolton Companies across the interstate to become the West Tennessee Tourist Center.   

Porch - Concrete Lifting

;​Photos of front porch that was settling.  Tucking pointing was done to try and eliminate the problem; however, it was later removed so the concrete lifting of the slab would properly close the gaps between the bricks.  Once lifting was complete, Bolton Companies tuck pointed cracks in work area.

Residential Retrofitting

Bolton Companies was called in to temporarily shore structure until we were able to bring foundation back to the proper elevation.  This residence had severe foundation failure that was causing the brick to fall off the side of the home.  Settlement had caused structural damage to sills, joist, and piers in crawlspace which Bolton Companies repaired and replaced.  We installed several Ram Jack pre-construction piles and a new foundation was installed to code.  Foundation walls were also core filled for extra support.  The homeowners later replaced exterior with vinyl siding.

Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church

​Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Wildersville, TN  -  Est. in early 1800’s.  Structural and retro fitting foundation; church had log joists and stone foundation – Completely rebuilt.   

Trenton Gazebo

​Historical Trenton Gazebo built in 1800’s. It had a crumbling foundation; shoring and new foundation.
